Who can meet at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center?
The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center exists to serve the needs of individuals and groups attending off-campus meetings or events; those doing business with UCLA entities; and University of California faculty, students, staff and other University affiliates. All conferences, programs and events held at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center must have an eligible learning or educational purpose. Your request to reserve meeting space, dining space and sleeping room accommodations will be reviewed for approval to ensure the activity is in alignment with the University’s mission of teaching, research and service.
When can I hold my conference?
Conference season is from the second week of September to mid June. All conferences take place during these times. In the summer we serve as the site for the UCLA Alumni Association’s Bruin Woods Family Resort.
Do you require a minimum number of guest rooms and nights per booking?
Yes, we require a minimum of ten (10) conference guests per night. For weekends, a two-night minimum stay is required.

How do I schedule my conference?
Simply complete the online Request for Proposal and one of our Conference Coordinators will contact you. You may also call our sales office at (909) 337-2478.
How far in advance can I book a conference?
University of California (UC) groups can book five (5) years prior to the conference arrival date. Non-UC groups can book out five (5) years as well, but only mid-week from Sunday to Friday. Weekends, for non-UC groups, can be booked out eighteen (18) months prior to the conference arrival date.
Can my attendees make their own reservations?
All group reservations are received via rooming list from the group contact. Individual reservations and payments are not accepted by the Conference Center as we operate on a master billing system.
Do you book weddings or other private events?
The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center is primarily for conferences only.
Rates & Payment Policies
What are your conference rates?
Our rates vary by season. A Conference Coordinator can quote you a rate. The per person, per night Complete Meeting Package (CMP) rate includes: Overnight accommodations; meeting and break-out rooms; breakfast, lunch, and dinner; coffee breaks; audio-visual; Wi-Fi; and parking. No service charge / gratuity is assessed and only the food portion of the per person, per night package rate is taxed.
Does the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center require a deposit to reserve a conference?
Yes. The deposit and signed conference agreement will secure your group’s reservation. The deposit amount is the CMP rate multiplied by the attendance for the first-night’s stay or peak night, whichever is greater.
What is the cancellation policy for conferences?
Deposits are non-refundable upon a group cancelling. Cancellation fees are calculated on a sliding scale based on the minimum income commitment. Groups cancelling one (1) month prior to arrival date will be charged a cancellation fee equal to 90% of the minimum income commitment.
Our Facilities & Services
What is a condolet?
Most of the sleeping rooms at the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center are called “condolets.” The word Condolet is a word created to express the combination of two terms – condominium and chalet. Most condolets are two-story private units with each level having a queen bed and full bathroom. A downstairs living room parlor with sleeper sofa, work desk and fireplace separates the two guest rooms. The remaining accommodations at the Conference Center are single-unit rooms with their own queen bed and bathroom, and vintage cottages. All sleeping rooms have all the amenities of an upscale hotel room.
Do you have a menu I can look at?
To view a sample menu for conferences, please click here. For conferences, breakfast times are from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.; lunch from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.; and dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Coffee breaks are typically mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee breaks are included in the CMP rate. Additional menus, including hors d’oeuvres, snacks and platters can be found in our supplemental menus.
Do groups dine with each other in the same dining room?
Yes, we have three (3) adjacent dining rooms that seat a total of 196 guests. Your group will have its own assigned tables group together. Adjacent to our dining rooms is our outdoor patio, which seats 130 guests, weather permitting.
Do you provide alcoholic beverages?
The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, as a state agency, cannot sell or provide alcoholic beverages. We do, however, allow you to bring your own social beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). We can store and deliver your beverages to your designated event room. Bottles and cans only please – no kegs. At your request, we will provide a complimentary social room set-up (ice and glasses) before or after dinner. We will also provide wine glasses at dinner, upon request.
Who provides audio visual and/or production equipment?
The use of audio-visual equipment is included in the CMP rate. Our staff will be happy to assist you in the meeting room prior to the beginning of your conference, to assure you understand how the system operates.
Do you have video conferencing capabilities?
Yes. Video conferencing is available for use in most of our meeting rooms.
Can we attach signs or posters to walls?
Yes, our meeting room walls are made to secure signs and posters. We also carry a modest inventory of easels for poster sessions.
Do you provide transportation?
No, however the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center can provide you with a list of transportation companies if you wish to charter a bus or other modes of transportation. Most conferees make the short drive up the mountain where adequate complimentary parking is provided.
Is smoking allowed in the buildings?
The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center is a smoke free property.
Can I bring my pet?
The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center has a pet-free policy. Pets are not permitted in the guest rooms, facilities, or on the grounds. Please make arrangements for your pets before leaving home. Licensed service animals are allowed with prior notification to the Conference Center.
What will the weather be like during our conference in Lake Arrowhead?
The Lake Arrowhead Community has a unique climate for Southern California with four distinct seasons which support an array of outdoor recreational activity and year round beauty. The area receives about 300 annual days of sunshine per year.
